Qing Ming @ Penang

it was an annual outing to Penang for Cheng Meng festival... everything was almost the same but this year we went without my sis as she was in Hong Kong... we stayed a night at Gopeng on Friday night...

handmade "lai fun"... it's a specialty from Gopeng...
yummy !!after dinner, went to my uncle house at New Kopisan... i bought a cake for my second aunt... it was her birthday - 27th March !!
my aunt bought this cake for my younger cousin - Jia Jin... his birthday falls on 31st March...
i bought this marble butter cake from De Pastry Chef... not bad ler... :P
both of them celebrated together....the next day, we woke up early at 5am... i slept all the way till Penang... had breakfast at a coffee shop at Pulau Tikus...
YUMMY-licious.... "har kou chee cheong fun" & the famous char kuey teow.....

my mum and bro....after breakfast we went to the cemeteries to continue our mission - to sweep my grandparent's tomb...

the weather was so hot...
my cousins resting under the umbrella... the things we did was almost the same like last year... after we've done everything there, we went for lunch at the same place at Transfer Road....

we ordered more dishes this time cos my uncle and his family joined us for lunch...
wow, we finished up everything in no time...again, we stayed at YMCA hostel this year... this time, we rented a 4-bedded room... my uncle also stayed there with us.... we cleaned up ourselves and rested in the room till dinner time... as it was raining, we didnt manage to go to Gurney Drive, we went to a coffee shop at Macalister Road...

OMG, 4 of us had all these...as usual, we went to my Grand Aunt's tailor shop at Kimberly Street... we did this everytime we went to Penang... but this year gonna be the last year, as they have decided to stop the business... since their business is not making money anymore and they are growing older, it's time for them to retire.... and, it was our last visit to the shop - Bee Wah Tailor - more than 50 years of history... :P
a pic inside the shop....after a while, we went for some Gui Ling Gao and Suet Kap again.... then, we had Kuey Chap for supper... hahaa.... we have been eating non-stop !!!
since all of us were very tired, we went back to our hostel early...

the next morning, we had the same breakfast at Cozy Corner... it's a complimentary breakfast provided by the hostel....
simple breakfast...
busy eating....after breakfast, we checked out and went to buy some biscuits... had Kuey Teow Soup with duck meat for second round breakfast... :P

Penang Bridge !!we stopped by at my aunt's house at Seberang Jaya but my aunt were not around...
my cousin's little gal - Tung Tung... last year, we're still carrying her and took some pics... but this year, she has changed a lot, she has grown up so much... she can even walk and run !! hahaaa... so so cute !!!!! can become a "baby" model... :P
she looked very much like his dad....rested for a while before we went back to Gopeng... stopped halfway at Gunung Rapat to buy the Salty Chicken....
this is the shop...had lunch nearby, then it was my turn to drive... reached home around 5-ish...
this trip is all about eating !!
